Maiden @ De Montfort was always a great night out. Don’t think i ever experienced a bad audience there. This was the “Piece Of Mind” tour. Nicko McBrain had just joined. I loved the start of this show, with a long intro & then pounding into “Where Eagles Dare”. Then straight into “Wrathchild” & ” Revelations”. Plenty of new songs played from the new album (& the right ones lol). On this tour i saw Maiden twice, but, i decided on the next one i would try follow them around the UK as much as i could….

Back when we were limited to the amount of gigs we could get to, as my dad would drive us. Around same time, Thin Lizzy announced their own farewell tour & we had to decided between UFO or Lizzy. Live n learn eh ? !

Stand out memories were that Jon Lords parents were in the balcony near us. Also, Cozy had some pretty hefty pyrotechnics….even up in the balcony they were very hot !

This was a classic gig for me. As far as i’m concerned Girlschool have always been great. Me & my mates were down the front in the crowd 😉 ( Often i got balcony tickets & would then go downstairs at De Montfort)
