I got to the gig quicker than the band did (previous night was in London) & Jeff commented on that 😉 At this show i met Fritz for the first time. Also kinda met Cristina (from Spain).

After all those years away from the UK, here it is finally : Tesla back in the UK ! I was lucky enough to see JK & Brian arrive, so i asked for a photo…& told them they shoulda come back sooner 😉 Also whilst I was waiting, Gina from McQueen turned up & asked me where to get backstage. McQueen opened proceedings & they went down a treat. 
Dunno about the latest Diamond head really. Tesla played all the classics ; Cumin Atcha Live, Little Suzi, Love Song, What You give etc. Fantastic stuff. The next day i traveled over to Helmond, NL…& got there before the band did 😉

Tesla, Little Angels, @ Marquee Club, London 18-5-87
This was well worth the effort/travelling etc. The opening act was Little Angels. Might have been their first gig in London ? They were pretty damn good. (Unfortunately, a few years later, they would become my “jinxed band”. Shows got cancelled, merch got lost in the post etc) Tesla are all about quality. Years later, when i saw them in Glasgow, i pretty much blew their minds when i showed them the old Marquee ticket! (Dave Rude, the guitarist might not have been born when Tesla played this gig! Or if he was, he’d be super young 😉 ) Not only did i manage to save my ticket, but also got a decent sounding recording of Tesla 🙂
